About me

Paula 2I am a Finnish feminist scholar working on topics related to equal pay and gender equality policy more broadly, employment relations, economic policy and welfare state employment. I obtained my PhD from Hanken School of Economics in 2016 with a thesis titled “The Politics of Gender Pay Equity”. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tampere University, Gender Studies. My multidisciplinary work combines elements of feminist political economy, sociology of work, gender studies, organization studies and employment relations.

Before my doctoral studies and academic career, I worked in project research studying topics around gender equality and working life in several Finnish universities and research institutes. I also briefly worked in a trade union and in Gender Equality Unit within Finnish state administration. I build on these experiences also in my current work.
