I am a Finnish feminist scholar working on topics related to equal pay, corporatism, politics, gender relations within the Nordic welfare state, and gender equality policy. I obtained my PhD from Hanken School of Economics in 2016 with a thesis titled “The Politics of Gender Pay Equity”. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tampere University, Gender Studies. My multidisciplinary work combines elements of feminist political economy, sociology, gender studies, organization studies, industrial relations and political science.
Before my doctoral studies and academic career, I worked in project research studying topics around gender equality and work in several Finnish universities and research institutes. I also briefly worked in a trade union and Gender Equality Unit in Finnish state administration. I build on these experiences also in my current work.
During 2019-2020 I will be the Editor-in-Chief (with Tiina Suopajärvi and Rebecca Lund) of NORA-Nordic Journal of Feminist and Gender Research.
I am also a member of Board in ESA-European Sociological Association RN 14 “Gender Relations in the Labour Market and the Welfare State”, NYTKIS – The Coalition of Finnish Women´s Associations, SUNS-Finnish gender studies association, a member of European Women’s Lobby, Feminist Economics Working Group, and a SUNS representative in expert group of gender statistics.
